A: "So how's your thesis?"
B: "Man... I haven't been playing so much Minessweeper in my whole life."

buggy ride
It's tempting to think that the current bump is the last obstacle and that thereafter you can turn the cruise control on.

A path to success
I'm no scientist, no theoretician. I'm a practician - just like Thomas Edison (in the sense of being no scientist :), who invented the Glühbirne. I beat my head against the wall till it breaks - the head or the wall.

All ride?
A logician will let you drive his car only if you know how to dismantle its engine, name all parts of it and thereafter assamble it back so that the car goes at least as good as before.

you're just some racist who can't tie my laces
Sometimes you have to make two steps forward in order to understand what happened two steps back. But mostly it just gets you in woods :).

mhm
they say that you don't get accustomed to anything else faster than the comfort, but always feel every little bit when it's taken away. Regarding studies, I guess that the bug is the sloppiness - once you let yourself be sloppy about your work ethics, it's a pain till your back teeth to do it again in a somewhat conventional way.

Somewhat a clumsy studying anthem
Thrust your instincts,
Pull your senses;
Whip the excuses,
Strip the complaints.
Pull your senses;
Whip the excuses,
Strip the complaints.

Routines
When you, mediocre-grade student, are arguing with a big-shot professor about raising a bit your mediocre mark, by putting forward as arguments his incompetence and improper pedanticalness, you really feel like a dog teaching its master. A bit pathetic. And series of times I've came across a notion that the least you put your own efforts, the more eager you are to complain about the results.

Got monkey off your back?
Session is dead and done, and the immediate consequence should be a huge relief and some sort of feeling of a sealed deal. But what if it's not so? What if the stress and tension is what fuels us doesn't let us so comfortably go with the flow, but makes us come over ourselves - at least try so. The other issue is - for how long one (Calvanese's legacy :) can remain purposefully focused on this run of session obsession in a long run or on a single stretch of a day. How to escape deviation tries conducted by natural lazyness and unwillingness to push oneself? I must confess - I didn't come up with a solution - I hit my self off the track using the most foolish excuses, even more - when i didn't have one I lookedup for it. And the result regretufully is the one that I foresaw already a while ago. My everunderdetermined-me let me down again, and this time the hard way. After every single such occasion you think you learned a lesson and there is still space and time to make-it-better-next-time and that you'll be capable to come over yourself that time - the next time, ok - maybe. But what will happen when I'll start to preassume that it'll be all the same all over again, without any tries? Yeah that's no more "Houston, we have a problem" occasion, that's already the IT - GAME OVER!

Fruitless efforts
Today I nearly finalized my concept about the relevance between the time we spend studying and our efforts: these two aren't relevant. To be precise if there are no particular goals/milestones set and some solid determination at the end of the day you result deeper than you were before with 0 return.

Waste
When your day contains 2 mensas, 2 sports, some lazy stuff in the middle and no attended lectures and no progress in current projects then you feel like being on a suicide ride which will result in a crush in June :/. And it is as bad as it gets about being off-the-track when you don't enjoy yourself at any point.
